As a website design and internet marketing company, we are always looking for the best and most effective ways to market our clients’ websites. One of our favorites and most effective tools is email marketing.
Email marketing is a great way to market your business, but thanks to spammers we now have to be very selective on the words we use to avoid being tagged as spam by the email providers. All email programs/providers have built-in spam filters that scan incoming emails to determine if they are spam. If they find words that could be consider as spam on the content or the subject line, your email may not reach your intended recipient.
Below, we have compiled a list of words that could land you in the spam box. Now what’s interesting about this list is that a lot of the words are words that we use everyday to promote our businesses. Here is our experience; using any of these words sparingly will not land you in the spam box. When you start repeating these words throughout the content and subject line, then you run a higher risk of being seen as a spammer.
